Viet Nam confirms 20 new COVID-19

The community infection cases are recorded in the northern provinces of Ha Nam (two) and Vinh Phuc (six) while all the others are Vietnamese repatriated from Japan (four), the Philippines (four), and Russia (four).

Specifically, patient 2943 is a 35-year-old woman in Lang Giang District, Bac Giang Province.

She took flight VJ7837 from Japan to Ho Chi Minh City on April 17 and was sent to a quarantine site in Dong Nai Province.

The patient is being treated at the Dong Nai Provincial Hospital for Lung Diseases.

Patient 2944 is a 27-year-old man in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City

Patient 2945 is a 35-year-old man in Ben Tre City, Ben Tre Province.

Patient 2946 is a 25-year-old man in Luc Nam District, Bac Giang Province.

Patient 2947 is a 35-year-old man in Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City.

The aforesaid nationals were brought home from the Philippines on April 28.

They are being treated at the Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases in Can Tho City where they were quarantined upon arrival.

Patients 2948 and 2949 are women, aged 24, from Bien Hoa District, Dong Nai Province.

Both of them were repatriated from Japan on April 23.

They are being treated at the Hospital for Lung Diseases in Da Nang where they were quarantined upon arrival.

Patients numbered 2950 and 2951 are local infections in Ha Nam Province, all linked to patient 2899.

They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 2952 is a 34-year-old man in Lac Thuy District, Hoa Binh Province.

Patient 2953 is a 27-year-old man in Lang Giang District, Bac Giang Province.

Patient 2954 is a 24-year-old man in Van Lam District, Hung Yen Province.

Patient 2955 is a 37-year-old man in Luc Ngan District, Bac Giang Province.

They flew from Russia to the central province of Khanh Hoa on April 18 and are being treated at the locality’s Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

Patient 2956 is a five-month-old baby boy from Tu Liem District, Ha Noi.

He was repatriated from Japan on April 24 and is being treated at a hospital in Khanh Hoa Province.

Patients numbered from 2957 to 2962 are local infection cases in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

They worked at a karaoke parlor in the locality’s Phuc Yen City. All of them had been in close contact with a Chinese national who tested positive for COVID-19 after completing 14-day mandatory quarantine period.
