The agreement was inked by Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Viet Nam to the United Nations (UN) and Permanent Representative of Burundi to the UN Zéphyrin Maniratanga in New York City, the U.S. on June 10.
Under the agreement, Vietnamese and Burundian citizens holding diplomatic and official passports will be granted a visa-free stay within 90 days from the date of entry.
Visa exemption will be granted for members of diplomatic missions, consular offices or representative offices at international organizations and their family members carrying diplomatic passports and official passports during the working term.
Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang expressed his hope that the agreement will help boost delegation exchanges at all levels, strengthen political trust and create further cooperative opportunities in fields of economics, trade and investment, thus making contribution to promoting the relations between the two countries.
