Attending the meeting were Ambassadors, Charge d'Affaires and embassies of ASEAN countries in the Czech Republic.
ASEAN ambassadors spoke highly of the committee's activities in the first half of this year, with the highlights being the ASEAN cuisine and culture festival in May and ASEAN consumer goods and cuisine fair in June, saying they contributed to promoting solidarity, the role of the committee and its image in the host nation.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam shared information on the Viet Nam – Czech Republic relations.
He affirmed that the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries continue their robust growth momentum in all areas towards the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic ties.
According to the Committee's assignment, he chaired the presentation of an assessment report on the domestic and foreign policy situation of the Czech Republic, as well as relations between the Czech Republic and major countries, members of the European Union (EU) and the Visegrad Group.
The Vietnamese diplomat proposed several initiatives to carry out the ACP's activities in the second half of the year such as celebration of the 57th ASEAN founding anniversary, ASEAN Film Week, and ASEAN goods and culinary culture fair.
At the end of the meeting, Malaysian Ambassador Suzilah Mohd Sidek and Vietnamese Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam signed the Official Minutes transferring the rotating Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee to Vietnam from July 1 to December 31, 2024. /.
