In the letter, PM Pham expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the timely and practical support to Ho Chi Minh City, highlighting that this support has contributed effectively to COVID-19 prevention and control in the city as well as in Viet Nam.

The Vietnamese PM emphasized that this gesture is even more precious at a time that the Government and people of Cambodia are also exerting efforts to cope with the pandemic in the neighboring Kingdom. It is an evidence of the friendship, solidarity and noble tradition of mutual support between the two nations, especially when the other is facing difficulties, PM Pham wrote in the letter.

He also thanked the Cambodian PM and Government for taking care of the Vietnamese community and people of Vietnamese descent during the recent implementation of COVID-19 response measures.

He expressed his belief that with determination and coordination between the two governments, as well as the support from the two populations, Viet Nam and Cambodia will soon win the fight against the pandemic, quickly recover their economy and resume sustainable development.
