Viet Nam announces comprehensive national security perspective

Luong made the above statement while addressing the national conference in Ha Noi on Sunday to disseminate the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.

National security in the new development stage covers not only border security, territory security, but also regime security, ruling security, cultural and idological security, economic security, financial security, data security, environmental security, energy security, water resource security, food security, human security, digital security, nuclear security, transmission security, optic security, low-altitude economy security among others, he said.

Viet Nam targets to maintain strategic autonomy of security in five pillars:

(i) Proactively identifying, preventing, and pushing back security threats and risks early and from afar; 

(ii) Proactively preparing national resources, enhancing mobilization capabilities to meet the requirements of all defense and security situations; 

(iii) Building and strengthening self-reliance and self-sufficiency in technology and high-quality human resources for ensuring security; 

(iv) Making breakthroughs in the development of the security industry to protect the Fatherland in all situations; 

(v) Building a strong foundation of public support as it leads to strong national defense and security; promoting international integration and security diplomacy, actively and effectively participating in United Nations peacekeeping operations, humanitarian assistance, search and rescue, and disaster relief.

The 14^th National Party Congress identified that "development" is the fundamental solution to ensuring sustainable security while maintaining security is one of the important drivers for national development./.
