Viet Nam and Cambodia strengthen labor cooperation

The conference is part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on labor cooperation for the 2022-2027 period signed between Viet Nam and Cambodia in November of last year.

The conference took place in the context of growing comprehensive cooperation between the two countries on the basis  of their long-standing and traditional relationship.

In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung affirmed that cooperation between the two ministries continued to grow both in depth and breadth and achieve many progressive results.

Since the MOU on cooperation in labor was inked in March 2017, the two ministries have strengthened the management of Cambodian labor in Viet Nam and vice versa, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of workers of the two countries.

In vocational education, the two countries have also promoted cooperation and mutual support at bilateral and multilateral levels and many projects have been jointly carried out within the frameworks of ASEAN or the Mekong sub-region and on international forums to which the two countries are members.

The Vietnamese minister expressed his belief that the unification of the implementation plan of the MOU for the period 2022-2027, approved by the two ministers today, will further expand the labor and vocational training cooperation between the two countries.

At the conference, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and Cambodian Minister of Labor and Vocational Training Ing Samheng reviewed a report on the Vietnamese and Cambodian labor forces and the recovery of the labor market, labor migration management, human resources development, vocational training, and solutions to existing issues.

The two ministers also approved an action plan to implement the 2022-27 MoU on labor between the two ministries, along with a joint statement./.
