The Southeast Asian nation recorded a 66 percent increase in searches from European visitors, only behind Malaysia (up 89 percent) and Japan (up 71 percent).
Some countries in Europe with the highest number of searches for Viet Nam tourism in April this year included France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Spain.
Meanwhile, the three destinations in Viet Nam most sought by European tourists are Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam and Nha Trang in the central province of Khanh Hoa.

Viet Nam saw 1.55 million international visitor arrivals in April 2024, and 6.2 million ones in the first four months of 2024 (3.9 percent higher than the same period of 2019-before the pandemic).
Visitors from European continue to grow strongly (up 63.8 percent) thanks to the effectiveness of the open visa policy applied from August 15, 2023. Most markets are very positive, including the UK (up 35.2 percent), France (up 41.7 percent), and Germany (up 36.9 percent).
Viet Nam's new visa policy extends stay duration for 13 countries enjoying unilateral visa exemption from 15 days to 45 days, regardless of passport type and entry purpose. The 13 countries include: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Belarus./.
