Four flights per week will depart Ha Noi on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday for Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, one of the largest and most modern airports in China.
This route is an important part of the carrier's strategy to grow its international flight network, making it easier for tourists to travel between Viet Nam and China.
At present, Viet Nam Airlines is operating five routes between the two nations, with a total of 33 round-trip flights per week.
China was Viet Nam's second biggest feeder of tourist arrivals with 358,000 arrivals over the first four months of 2024, official statistics showed.
Viet Nam has emerged as a leading destination for Chinese holiday-makers, digital travel platform Agoda reported, adding that the return of Chinese tourists' interest shows a bright prospect for Viet Nam's tourism in the time ahead.
Agoda also said that tourists from China choose Viet Nam because of its rich culture and beautiful natural landscape. This year, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Nha Trang, Da Nang and Phu Quoc pearl island has entered the top five choices of Chinese tourists./.
