U.S. Country Reports on Human Rights Practices cover biased assessments on Viet Nam: Spokesperson

VGP - The U.S. Department of State's 2022 Annual Human Rights Reports have cover biased assessments based on inaccurate information about the actual situation in Viet Nam, said Deputy Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Pham Thu Hang.

The Deputy Spokesperson made the above statement during the ministry’s regular press conference in Ha Noi on March 23 in response to the reports which read that some Asian countries, including Viet Nam, had "seriously and systematically violated human rights".

She stressed that Viet Nam always puts people the center of development and considers them as a driving force of the course of national renovation and development.

Viet Nam always strives for the goal of improving people's lives, ensuring their right to enjoyment and leaving no one behind, she added. 

“The fundamental rights and freedom of human beings are enshrined in the Constitution of Viet Nam, protected and promoted by specific legal documents, and enforced in practice,” the diplomat said.

Phsm affirmed that Viet Nam always stands ready to talk about differences with the U.S. straightforwardly and openly in a constructive spirit to enhance mutual understanding and contribute to the development of comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and the U.S./.
