
Specifically, civil servants and public employeers shall be entitled to have seven days off for the Tet holiday, from February 2 to 10, 2027, or from January 28 to February 5 on lunar calendar.
This means that civil servants and public employees shall return to work on the 6th day of the Lunar New Year.
For private sector, employeers shall decide the break schedule based on actual circumstances but the number of days off shall not lower than the legally prescribed minimum.
The Government Office also announced that the National Day break in 2027 shall last four days, from September 2 to the end of September 5.
Viet Nam currently has 12 paid public holidays, including one day for New Year’s Day, five days for the Lunar New Year, one day for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day, one day for Liberation Day, one day for International Workers’ Day, two days for National Days, and one day for Viet Nam Culture Day./.
