Two more Coronavirus-related fatalities take death toll to 64

VGP – A 90-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man became the latest Coronavirus-related deaths in Viet Nam, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday.

The deceased woman is a resident in the northern province of Bac Giang. She was confirmed positive for the virus on June 12.

Two days later, she had symptoms of coughing and shortness of breath and was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Bac Giang Mental Hospital on the same day.

Her health conditions continued to deteriorate and the patient passed away on Friday morning due to severe pneumonia caused by COVID-19, septic shock and multiple-organ failure, type 2 diabetes, necrosis of the left forearm and senility.

Meanwhile, the deceased man is a resident in Thanh Hoa province. He suffered from bronchial cancer that had metastasized. He was tested positive for coronavirus on May 15 when he was admitted to Ha Noi-based Cancer Hospital.

He was then taken to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Ha Noi for further treatment.

He responded poorly to treatments and died on early morning of June 19.
