Trang An Festival 2018 underway in Ninh Binh

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc beat a drum on Sunday to kick–start the Trang An Festival 2018 within the Trang An Scenic Complex in the northern province of Ninh Binh on Apil 29.

The festival is annually held on the 18th day of the 3^rd lunar month to commemorate the national hero, Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong, a general under the reign of the 18th Hung King. It is an occasion for locals to pay tribute to the ancestors and pray for peace, happiness and bumper crops.

This year’s festival takes place on the occasion of the 1050^th founding anniversary of Dai Co Viet, the first centralized feudal State of Viet Nam (968-2018).

The Trang An Festival 2018 features with traditional rituals and art performances from ASEAN countries, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

The Trang An Landscape Complex was recognised as the world’s mixed cultural and natural property, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, by UNESCO./.
