Traffic accidents decrease on Tet holidays

VGP – Traffic accidents declined in the number of accidents (24 fewer cases, down 10.8%); the number of deaths (seven fewer deaths, 5%), and the number of injuries (39 fewer cases, down 17.9%), said the Ministry of Transport.

In the seven-day Tet holiday, a total of 198 traffic accidents occurred nationwide, taking the lives of 133 people and causing injuries to 174 others.

Among them, two were serious as they caused six deaths.

Traffic police patrolled and imposed administrative fines on 19,933 traffic infringements.

Up to 35,820 drivers had been checked for alcohol concentration.
