The project aims to build and upgrade infrastructure and equipment at the hospitals.

It also targets to combine oriental and western medicine to take care of people’s health and reduce hospital overload.

Under the newly-approved project, 24 hospitals will be given investment priority between 2014 and 2015.

In the 2016-2020 period, the project will continue to upgrade facilities and equipment in the hospitals.

The scale of provincial hospitals of this kind depends on population, demands of local residents and service provision.

Accordingly, a locality with population under one million will have a provincial hospital with 100-150 beds; 1.5-2 million with 150-200 beds and over 2 million with 250-350 beds./.
