Top legislator to visit South Korea, Mongolia
VGP - President of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man is set to pay official visits to South Korea and Mongolia from September 6 to 11, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday.

The visits will be made at the invitations of Speaker of the South Korea's National Assembly Cho Jeong Sik and Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia Sandag Byambatsogt.
Viet Nam and Sout Korea established diplomatic relations on December 22, 1992. Both sides elevated their ties to a Comprehensive Partnership in August 2001, Strategic Partnership in October 2009, and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in December 2022.
South Korea is now Viet Nam's second largest foreign investor, second largest tourist source market, second largest ODA provider, and third largest importer of Viet Nam's manpower.
The two-way trade reached US$89.5 billion in 2025, an increase of 9.6 percent compared to the previous year. Of the figure, Viet Nam's export value stood at US$28.9 billion, up 12.7 percent year-on-year.
In the first seven months this year, trade between the two countries soared by 41 percent year-on-year to US$70 billion.
On investment, South Korea is the biggest foreign investor in Viet Nam, with 10,567 active projects worth US$102.6 billion, accounting for 23 percent of total foreign-funded projects and 18.2 percent of total registered investment capital.
Meanwhile, Viet Nam and Mongolia set up diplomatic relations on November 17, 1954, and elevated ties to a Comprehensive Partnership on September 30, 2024.
In 2025, the two-way trade reached US$155 million, of which Viet Nam's exports stood at US$100 million./.
