The visit is made at the invitation of Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary László Kövér.
Vuong's upcoming visit to Hungary is expected to deepen the comprehensive partnership and the parliamentary ties between the two nations and the two legislative bodies, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Thi Bich Thao in a recent interview.
Hungary considers Viet Nam as a crucial partner in Southeast Asia, Nguyen said, adding that the two nations upgraded their relationship into comprehensive partnership in September 2018 on the occasion of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s official visit to Hungary.
Vuong's visit creates an opportunity for the two sides’ senior leaders to reaffirm political commitments to attaching importance to and fostering the bilateral relationship, contributing to economic recovery and sustainable development in the post COVID-19 period, the diplomat emphasized.
Regarding achievements in the bilateral ties, Nguyen said that, Hungary is the first country in the EU ratifying the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
The two-way trade value hit US$1.3 billion in 2020 and US$1.1 billion in 2021.
Since 2018, more than 1,000 Vietnamese workers have been sent for working in Hungary.
Hungary donated 256,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses and 100,000 antigen test kits to Viet Nam as well as freed up and sold another 400,000 doses to the Southeast Asian nation in its COVID-19 fight.
