Top leader hosts Ambassadors, Chargés d’Affaires of ASEAN Member States

The meeting took place on the occasion of the 59^th founding anniversary of ASEAN, the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), and the 31st anniversary of Viet Nam's accession to ASEAN.

To expressed his appreciation to ASEAN Member States for accompanying Viet Nam throughout its development journey. He called on the diplomats to continue to serve as important bridges to strengthen cooperation and coordination, contributing to the further development of relations between Viet Nam and Southeast Asian countries.

He expressed belief that ASEAN Member States would maintain their solidarity, promote cooperation, reinforce the bloc's centrality, and successfully realize the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.

Viet Nam attaches great importance to its relations with ASEAN and its Member States, regarding the bloc as a close-knit family and its Southeast Asian neighbors as trusted and valued partners, emphasized the host.

He urged ASEAN and its member states to strengthen dialogue and cooperation, reinforce political trust and solidarity, enhance resilience and strategic autonomy, and resolve differences within the ASEAN framework.

To also underscored the need to foster stronger ties in socio-economic development, trade, and investment among ASEAN member states and between the bloc and its partners, with greater focus on sectors with strong complementary potential while narrowing development gaps among member countries.

On behalf of the Ambassadors and Chargés d'Affaires of ASEAN Member States in Ha Noi, Philippine Ambassador Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III congratulated Viet Nam on its significant socio-economic achievements in recent years.

ASEAN Member States highly appreciate Viet Nam's role and contributions over more than three decades since becoming an official member of the bloc, he noted.

He also welcomed Viet Nam's successful hosting of the ASEAN Future Forum 2026, which attracted broad interest and strong participation from countries across the region.

The Ambassador reaffirmed the shared commitment of ASEAN Member States to advancing the ASEAN Community-building process, realizing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, following up on the key outcomes of the 48th ASEAN Summit, expanding the bloc's network of external partnerships, and maintaining unity in addressing common challenges.

Fernandez affirmed ASEAN Member States' commitment to promoting close coordination with relevant Vietnamese agencies to further strengthen bilateral relations and contribute to building a resilient, dynamic, innovative, and people-centered ASEAN Community, thereby promoting peace, stability, cooperation, and development in Southeast Asia and beyond./.
