State President arrives in Peru for APEC Week

VGP – State President Tran Dai Quang, his spouse, and the high-ranking delegation arrived in Lima, Peru to attend the 24th High-level Week of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum.

The visit is made from November 17-20, at the invitation of Peruvian President Pedro Paplo Kuczynsky.

The State President was accompanied by Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, Secretary of the Ha Noi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, Chairman of the President Office Dao Viet Trung; Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Anh; Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.  

Under the theme “Quality Growth and Human Development,” APEC Peru 2016 focuses on four key priorities namely (1) advancing regional economic integration and quality growth; (2) enhancing the regional food market; (3) towards the modernization of micro, small and medium-size enterprises in the Asia-Pacific and (4) developing human capital.

Over the past 18 years, Viet Nam has made positive contributions to APEC, especially via successful hosting of APEC Viet Nam 2006 with the 14th APEC Summit.

Viet Nam is an active member in APEC, proposing and implementing over 100 projects in numerous areas namely trade, investment, economic-technical cooperation, SMEs, response to emergency issues, healthcare, food security, and anti-terrorism./.
