State-level funeral to be held for former Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Khanh

The respect-paying service for the former official will take place from 7.15 am to 10.15 am at the National Funeral Hall at No.5 Tran Thanh Tong street, Ha Noi. 

The burial service will take place at 3pm in the cemetery in his hometown in Thuong Tin District, Ha Noi.

The Secretariat of the Party Central Committee has decided to establish the State Funeral Board for comrade Nguyen Khanh, which is led by Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai.

Comrade Nguyen Khanh was born on March 31, 1928, in Thuong Tin district, Ha Noi.

He was Secretary of the Party Central Committee in the 6th tenure; and a member of the Party Central Committee in the 5th (alternate), 6th, and 7th tenures.

He held positions as Deputy Chairman and General Secretary of the Council of Ministers (1987-1992); Deputy Prime Minister (1992-1997); and a deputy of the National Assembly in the 8th, 9th, and 10th tenures./.
