Sixty-seven new COVID-19 cases take national tally to 4,242

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 67 new COVID-19 cases on Monday morning, raising the national caseload to 4,242.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from May 1 to 00:30 pm on May 17

The latest patients include two imported cases and 65 local infections.

One of the imported cases is a 61-year-old French expert who flew from France to Viet Nam on May 1. The other is a Vietnamese man returning home from Malaysia on May 12.

All the domestic cases are residents in areas placed under social distancing or lockdown due to emergence of COVID-19 outbreaks. They include 36 in Bac Giang, 11 in Bac Ninh, three in Vinh Phuc, one in Tuyen Quang, seven in Dien Bien, five in Ha Nam, and two in Lang Son.

Of the country’s patient tally, 2,774 are local infections, including 1,204 cases reported since April 27 when the fourth wave of local transmissions began./.
