The Vietnamese billionaires altogether have a net worth of US$16.7 billion.
Pham Nhat Vuong remains Viet Nam’s wealthiest man with a net worth of US$7.3 billion and ranks 344th in the world.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao made her fifth time on the list with a net worth of US$2.8 billion, ranking 1,111th. Thao is currently the vice chairwoman of HDBank, vice president and CEO of VietJet Air.
Tran Ba Duong and Do Hung Anh have the same net worth of US$1.6 billion, each.
Tran Dinh Long and Nguyen Dang Quang re-entered the list after being absent for one year.
Long’s asset is worth US$2.2 billion and ranked 1,444th in the world while Nguyen Dang Quang’s net worth is $1.2 billion.
The number of billionaires on Forbes’ 35th annual list of the world’s wealthiest exploded to an unprecedented 2,755—660 more than a year ago. Altogether they are worth US$13.1 trillion, up from US$8 trillion on the 2020 list.
There are a record high 493 newcomers to the list—roughly one new billionaire every 17 hours, including 210 from China and Hong Kong (China)and 98 from the U.S.
