The VTL is for entry into Singapore. All travellers entering Singapore under the VTL must comply with the prevailing VTL requirements stated at https://safetravel.ica.gov.sg/vtl/requirements-and-process.

With the launch of the VTL from Viet Nam, Singapore will restore two-way quarantine-free travel with Viet Nam, which was a popular destination for many Singaporeans.

The aforesaid move by Singapore came after Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc's State visit to Singapore from February 24-26, 2022 , during which both countries reached a bilateral agreement for mutual recognition of their COVID-19 vaccine passports.

The Government of Viet Nam had announced that the country will fully reopen international tourism from March 15, 2022.

On March 3, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said that the ministry reported new visa policy to the Government to be implemented from March 15, 2022, in a bid to foster socio-economic recovery, engage in international integration in the new normal, as well as facilitate trade between Viet Nam and other countries/territories.

The country has officially recognized the vaccine certificates and/or COVID-19 recovery documents of 79 countries and territories./
