These commodities included computers, electronics and spare parts (US$57.34 billion), phones and accessories (US$53.19 billion), machines, equipment and tools (US$43.18 billion), garments (US$33.23 billion), footwear (US$20.37 billion), vehicles and tools (US$13.74 billion), and timber (US$13.42 billion).
Meanwhile, 35 items had the export value exceeding US$1 billion each. Their combined export value is equivalent to 93.6 percent of the country's total export turnover.
Viet Nam's trade with the rest of the world hit US$683 billion last year, down 6.6 percent year on year, according to the GSO. Of the figure, export volume was estimated to reach US$355.5 billion, down 4.4 percent year on year.
The Southeast Asian country enjoyed a surplus of US$18.53 billion last year./.
