Samsung supports development of smart factory in Viet Nam
VGP - A Memorandum of Understanding on Smart Factory Development Cooperation Project between the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) and Samsung Viet Nam was inked in Ha Noi on Tuesday.

The project targets to train 100 Vietnamese experts as well as provide consultations and upgrade 50 businesses to apply Smart Factory in two years with a view to improving the expertise of domestic consultants and enhancing enterprises' production operation capacity based on their information technology platforms.
Under the program, the consultants will be trained for 12 weeks to advance knowledge and skills for building smart factories.
According to the MIT, since 2015, the ministry and Samsung have jointly launched improvement consultancy programs to upgrade competitiveness for 379 Vietnamese firms.
The MIT and Samsung provided training for 406 specialists on the auxiliary industry during 2018-2021 and 200 mold technicians during 2020-2023.
The Smart Factory Cooperation Development Project is the latest program in a series of innovative consulting activities for Vietnamese businesses and training Vietnamese experts to effectively replicate, strengthen synergy and continue to strengthen supporting industry development activities.
The cooperation has again affirmed Samsung Viet Nam's strong commitment to Viet Nam. Last week, Thai Nguyen province granted an adjusted Investment Registration Certificate to Samsung Electro-Mechanics Viet Nam (SEMV) to further invest US$920 million in the province, lifting the plant's total capital to around US$2.27 billion.
