Salty sand banned from export since June 30

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng agreed with the Ministry of Construction’s proposal to ban the export of salty sand since June 30 this year.

The Government chief asked coastal provinces to coordinate with the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to manage projects on dredging estuaries.

Việt Nam is one the most vulnerable countries to the global climate change, and its low-land areas can be submerged into sea water. Thus, salty sand collected from the above projects should be used to elevate the low areas.
