Salt, sugar, egg quotas introduced

VGP – Quotas will be applied to the import of salt, sugar and eggs between August 6 and December 31, 2012, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s newly-promulgated Circular 22/2012/TT-BCT.

Accordingly, the import quota for salt is 102,000 tons; refined sugar and raw sugar 70,000 tons; poultry egg 40,000 dozens.

The Ministry would allocate the salt quota of 100,000 tons to traders directly engaging in chemical production and 2,000 tons of pure salt to those producing medicine and health products.

Out-of-quota bird and poultry eggs will be subjected to export and import duty of 80%./.
