Sa Dec city established

The city covers an area of 5,981 and has a population of 152,237 with nine administrative units.

It has an industrial zone with total area of more than 222ha. The zone is next to National Road No.80 and Trans-provincial road 848 by the South of Tien River.

The Zone offers an abundant source of materials for industries, food processing, fruit, especially fresh-water aquaproducts. This is also a transhipment market having close relationship with provinces in the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City, including Cambodia via Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate.

At present, Dong Thap also has another provincial-level city (Cao Lanh), a town (Hong Ngu) and nine districts (Tan Hong, Hong Ngu, Tam Nong, Thanh Binh, Cao Lanh, Thap Muoi, Chau Thanh, Lai Vung, Lap Vo)./.
