Russian soldiers arrive in Ha Noi for National Day parade

At the invitation of the Ministry of National Defense, Russia sent 30 service members to take part in the military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

Viet Nam has invited four countries – Russia, China, Laos, and Cambodia – to participate in the event. The ministry said this reflects Viet Nam's friendship and solidarity with its traditional partners, while underscoring its independent, self-reliant, and multilateral foreign policy, positioning the country as a trusted friend and partner of all nations.

The Russian contingent was welcomed by officials from the Ministry of National Defense and relevant agencies, who assisted with arrival procedures before the group moved to their accommodations to begin preparations.

Military delegations from Cambodia and Laos arrived in Viet Nam on August 15 and 16. Both are staying in Phu Tho province and conducting training at the Mieu Mon National Training Center.

During the 50th anniversary of national reunification in April 2025, service members from China, Laos, and Cambodia also joined Viet Nam's military parade.

This year's parade rehearsals are scheduled for 8 p.m. on August 21 and 24 at Ba Dinh Square and central streets along the parade route, with two full dress rehearsals to follow before the official event on September 2./.
