Quang Ninh grants investment registration certificate to US$365.6 million FDI project

VGP - Authorities in the northern province of Quang Ninh granted an investment registration certificate to a US$365.6 million project of Jinko Solar Viet Nam Co. Ltd., an affiliate of the Jinko Solar Holding Co. Ltd.

Construction of the project will start in late September inside the Song Khoai Industrial Park (AMATA) and will produce its first silicon wafers in December this year.

Covering an area of 20.1 hectare, the project is the highest value from foreign investment in the province with aim to manufacturing, installing and selling mono-crystal silicon ingots and wafers, as well as studying science and developing technologies.

Designed capacity of the project is approx. 1.43 million silicon wafers annually. When it goes under operation, the project is expected to create 2,188 jobs, including 1,946 for national employees and 242 foreign experts and technicians.

Quang Ninh is expected to license new projects and adjust capital in existing projects at a total value of approx. US$1.2 billion by the end of the year, two times higher than last year. In the first nine months of this year, the province drew US$1.067 billion in new and existing projects, compared to 398 million USD in the same time last year./.
