The Vietnamese Government leader made the call during his reception for Singaporean Ambassador to Viet Nam Jaya Ratnam and CEO of Temasek Foundation Ng Boon Heong on August 2 in Ha Noi.
The Viet Nam-Singapore strategic partnership is developing strongly and dynamically across all domains, especially economy, trade and investment, with two-way trade jumping over 23 percent to US$8.3 billion last year despite COVID-19, and hitting US$4.75 billion in the first half of this year.
The Prime Minister thanked Singapore and the Temasek Foundation for their support for Viet Nam during the COVID-19 pandemic, and highly valued the foundation’s implementation of 27 cooperation and support programs in Viet Nam since 2008 with total funding amounting to US$10 million and the participation of around 3,000 Vietnamese officials.
He suggested the two countries organize activities marking the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties, and the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership in 2023.
The Vietnamese government welcomes and stands ready to create favorable conditions for Singaporean businesses to invest in the country, said Prime Minister Pham.
The Singaporean guests hailed efforts by the Vietnamese government in handling economic issues and Viet Nam’s efforts and achievements in pandemic containment.
The Temasek CEO stressed that Viet Nam is the first country in Southeast Asia Temasek has invested in, and that Temasek wants to expand its investments in Viet Nam./.
