Pham reiterated that Viet Nam always considers Japan as a trustworthy, important and long-term partner.

He asked the two sides to continue enhancing political trust via mutual visits and meetings at all levels, fostering collaboration between the countries' localities and businesses, and promoting people-to-people links, suggesting Japan consider simplifying procedures on visa issuance for Vietnamese citizens.

Pham called for Japan's support to carry out industrialization and modernization, and build an independent and self-reliant economy that is proactively integrating into the global economy.

The Government chief recommended Japan assist Viet Nam in accelerating green transition, digital transformation and innovation; developing high-tech and semiconductor industries; and fostering the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical equipment sectors to serve public health care.

The Prime Minister suggested Japan further open its market to agricultural and aquatic products of Viet Nam, especially fresh fruits.

He called for the Japanese Government's support and provision of new-generation official development assistance (ODA) for Viet Nam to develop large-scale strategic infrastructure facilities such as the North-South high-speed railway project.

Pham reiterated Viet Nam's commitment to creating optimal conditions for Japanese firms to invest in the Southeast Asian country.

Nishimura, for his part, said Japan advocates Viet Nam's targets of becoming a modern and industrialized country by 2045, achieving its net zero emissions by 2050, and developing future-oriented industries.

He suggested Viet Nam support the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) initiated by Japan.

The Minister expected that the two sides will keep developing and implementing flagship projects, in the fields of semiconductor chip manufacturing, artificial intelligence, innovation, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, health care and seafood processing, as well as explore the possibility of exploiting and processing rare earth./.
