Pham welcomed Suga on his visit to Viet Nam on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Japan.
On behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, Government and people of Viet Nam, Pham thanked Suga, the Government and people of Japan for timely donation of more than 7.4 million doses of vaccine, contributing to helping Viet Nam overcome the most difficult period in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, effectively controll the disease, and achieve positive and comprehensive results in socio-economic development in 2022.
Pham hoped that Suga would continue to support and make valuable contributions to further promote the Viet Nam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership.
He suggested the two sides step up the exchange of delegations on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, strengthen defense-security cooperation. promote cooperation in all economic fields, especially trade cooperation, investment, supply chain diversification, supporting industry development, innovation, digital transformation.
Pham also called on Japan to back Viet Nam in accelerating industrialization and modernization, and building an independent and self-reliant economy.
The former Japanese Prime Minister expressed his pleasure to visit Viet Nam again, affirming special affection for the country and people of Viet Nam./.
