The two countries signed the land border treaty in 1999, agreement on delimitation and agreement on fishery cooperation in the Gulf of Tonkin in 2000, and agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues in 2011.

Viet Nam has been the 6th biggest trading partner of China since 2020 while China has been the largest trading partner of Viet Nam since 2004.

The 14th WEF Annual Meeting of the New Champions, slated for 27-29 June in China's Tianjin comes at a time when the global economy is at a pivotal moment of transformation.

Established business and industry models have not only been challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic but also are being tested by a fast-changing, macro-economic landscape.

The meeting will tackle key issues that are of major concern to international companies and create and strengthen partnerships that focus on generating a positive impact.

As the Forum's first in-person meeting in Asia for over three years, the meeting will also provide an opportunity to gather insights about the role of China and the region as a whole in reigniting the global economy./.
