At his meeting with Professor Cameron, Pham commended the contributions of RMIT Viet Nam over the past 25 years in training skilled human resources and promoting educational cooperation between Viet Nam and Australia. To further enhance cooperation, Pham encouraged RMIT to continue effectively implementing its training programs in Viet Nam, contributing to human resource development and strengthening students' global integration capacity. The Prime Minister also called for expanding enrolment and diversifying academic disciplines, particularly in high-demand areas such as digital technology, artificial intelligence, green economy, innovation and technology governance. He called for stronger collaboration between RMIT and Vietnamese businesses, research institutions and universities to support innovation, startups and knowledge transfer, while also expanding scholarship programs and research partnerships.
Professor Cameron affirmed that RMIT's presence in Viet Nam is driven not only by commercial goals but also by a commitment to supporting the country's human resource development. He revealed plans to expand operations with additional campuses in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, and expressed appreciation for the Vietnamese Government's support, hoping that relevant agencies will continue to facilitate the expansion process.
Prime Minister Pham reaffirmed that the Government consistently creates favorable conditions for reputable international education institutions, including RMIT, to operate in line with Vietnamese law and contribute to national development. He added that relevant agencies are working to resolve procedures to support the establishment of a new RMIT campus in Ha Noi, and encouraged Professor Cameron to continue proposing initiatives to deepen cooperation in education, training and research, thereby strengthening the Viet Nam–Australia partnership./.
