Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his entourage arrive in Stockholm for a three-day official visit to Sweden
This is the first visit to Sweden by a Vietnamese Prime Minister over the past six years.
Sweden is the third leg of Pham's Europe tour that has also taken him to Estonia and France. In France, he attended the 3rd UN Ocean Conference and met with French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Francois Bayrou and leaders of several countries and international organizations.
In 1969, Sweden was the first Western country to establish diplomatic ties with Viet Nam. Over the past 56 years, the relations between Viet Nam and Sweden have evolved from development assistance into a broader relationship built on trade, innovation, and shared goals, said Swedish Ambassador to Viet Nam Johan Ndisi.
"This showed our belief in peace, solidarity, and open dialogue. Our early contributions to vital sectors through projects like the National Pediatric Hospital (today Viet Nam National Children Hospital), the Viet Nam-Sweden General Hospital Uong Bi, and Bai Bang Paper Mill (today Viet Nam Paper Corporation), remain lasting symbols of our solidarity", told the diplomat.
Viet Nam and Sweden aim to advance a resilient forward-looking partnership grounded in shared values and a vision for sustainable inclusive growth, he noted./.
