He spoke highly of decisive leadership of the Vietnamese Politburo, especially General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham, in implementing high-level cooperation agreements and plans, with a focus on resolving the difficulties and obstacles of many projects.
The host leader urged the relevant agencies of both sides to concentrate their efforts and actively implement the achievements reached by their senior leaders.
He called for further strengthening connectivity between the two economies, particularly in areas such as finance, infrastructure, transportation, energy, telecommunications, and tourism.
Pham, for his part, congratulated Laos on its achievements in 2024, expressing his belief that under the leadership of Sisoulith, the nation will continue gaining more success in the upcoming time.
He took the occasion to report to the Laos leader the outcomes of the 47th meeting of the Viet Nam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee and Viet Nam-Laos Investment Cooperation Conference 2025.
Both leaders expressed their delight at the intensive and substantive achievements in the bilateral ties, adding that political cooperation has been increasingly strengthened, especially via all-level regular exchanges and meetings while defense and security cooperation remains a crucial pillar of bilateral relations.
Economic, trade, and investment cooperation continues to grow strongly, with the bilateral trade turnover estimated at US$2.2 billion, surpassing the US$2 billion target set by both sides, told the leaders.
They vowed to make efforts to raise the two-way trade turnover US$5 billion in the near future.
The two sides will continue to support each other in building independent and self-reliant economies, while enhancing extensive and effective international integration, underlined the guest and the host.
They pledged to increase high-level delegation exchanges, especially during major events hosted by both countries, reflecting the spirit of solidarity, closeness, and determination to achieve the set goals./.
