Prime Minister orders new terminal at Phu Bai airport to start operations in next April

VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh required that the Terminal 2 at Phu Bai International Airport in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, must be put into operation in April this year.

The Government chief made the request during his inspection tour to the construction site of the airport.

He was accompanied by Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu.

The terminal, with the total investment capital of VND2,249 billion (US$95.7 million), started construction on December 29, 2019.

The new terminal, invested by the Airports Corporation of Viet Nam (ACV), is designed to serve five million passengers annually.

Phu Bai International Airport is now able to serve 1.5 million passengers per year and is often overloaded./.
