Prime Minister Pham congratulated India on its remarkable strides in economy, sci-tech, national defense, infrastructure, and improving living standards.
He treasured the Indian President and Government for extending condolences over the passing of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a close friend of the Indian people.
Viet Nam, said the Prime Minister, always bears in mind India's invaluable support during its past struggle for national liberation and its ongoing construction and development especially India's assistance with medical supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also added that Viet Nam always supports for India’s increasing role and position in the region and the international arena.
The Prime Minister took the occasion to seek Indian support for Viet Nam in terms of national defense, preferential credit packages, personnel training as well as capacity-building.
He proposed doubling two-way trade, investment, and tourism by 2030 and increasing the frequency of direct flights to facilitate exchanges between localities and their people.
In reply, President Droupadi Murmu said that she was pleased to witness the fast development of the bilateral relations in recent years, especially since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016.
She highly spoke of the outcomes of the talks between the two Prime Ministers, particularly the adoption of the joint statement on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and deepening cooperation based on the "Five Mores" principle./.
