Prime Minister meets top Korean legislator in Seoul

The top Korean legislator welcomed the Vietnamese Prime Minister's visit, the first one made by a senior Vietnamese leader since the two nations upgraded their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2022.
He expressed his hope that the visit would contribute to deepening the bilateral ties, and affirmed that the Korean parliament will coordinate closely with the Vietnamese National Assembly to effectively and practically realize the action program to deploy the new relationship framework and bolster cooperation in economic security and human resources connectivity.
The Korean Speaker proposed the Vietnamese Government to create favorable conditions for Korean businesses to do business in the Southeast Asian country.
He vowed to work with the Vietnamese National Assembly in promoting cultural exchanges, tourism cooperation, and locality-to-locality and people-to-people exchanges, thereby enhancing understanding between the two countries' people and creating a foundation for developing sustainable relations between the two nations.
Pham, for his part, called on the Korean side to advocate and approve policies to support Vietnamese businesses' participation in Korean enterprises' global supply chains.
Pham urged the Korean side to continue paving the way for the entry of Viet Nam's advantageous exports, including agro-aquatic products.
The Prime Minister underlined the need to boost cooperation in digital transformation, green transition, calling for South Korea's assistance in training human resources for semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors.
Both leaders noted that the bilateral ties have grown steadily and substantially across all sectors, particularly trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
They pledged to further strengthen cooperation between the two legislative bodies in the coming time by intensifying the exchange of delegations, and sharing experience in building laws and institutions for sustainable development and digital and green transformation.
The pair stressed the importance of enhancing the role of the two countries' legislatures in supporting the two governments to foster bilateral cooperation, including realizing the goal of raising the trade value to US$100 billion by 2025./.
