Prime Minister meets Secretary of Yunnan Party Committee

Prime Minister Pham expressed thanked Yunnan authorities for close and effective cooperation in regulating upstream water discharge and providing assistance for Viet Nam to mitigate damage caused by Typhoon Yagi.

The Party and Government of Viet Nam always attach importance to and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese localities to cooperate with Chinese localities, including Yunnan, Pham said.

He called for doubling effort to raise the Viet Nam-Yunnan trade turnover to US$5 billion, accelerate pilot operation of a smart border gate model, enhance coordination in water discharge regulation and disaster prevention.

Pham urged the two sides to coordinate closely in borderline management and protection work in accordance with the three land border agreements and related ones, and in organization of events marking the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Viet Nam-China border treaty and the 15th anniversary of the signing of the three legal documents on land border in 2024. 

In reply, Wang said that Yunnan treasured friendship and cooperation with Viet Nam and stands ready to work closely with relevant ministries, sectors, and localities in Viet Nam to implement the common perceptions reached between General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and General Secretary To Lam./.
