Prime Minister Pham expressed his pleasure to meet President Macron on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations (1973-2023) and the 10th anniversary of strategic partnership (2013-2023) between the two countries.
Pham conveyed greetings of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Vo Van Thuong to Macron, and invited him to pay a visit to Viet Nam.
He suggested the two countries strengthen collaboration in implementing the agreements reached during the phone conversation between Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Macron on October 20, 2023.
Pham asked France to actively assist Viet Nam in restoring and preserving historical relics, and to step up the process of the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) ratification.
President Macron spoke highly of the cooperation prospect between the two countries, and agreed on the need that both sides should further strengthen comprehensive cooperation in potential areas.
He said that he will send several Cabinet ministers to Viet Nam to review and discuss concrete cooperation activities.
France has a roadmap to ratify the EVIPA, said Macron.
The French President welcomed and spoke highly of Viet Nam's efforts and contributions to the implementation of the Political Declaration on the Just Energy Transition Partnership, affirming that his Government will continue support for this process.
Prime Minister Pham and President Macron agreed the two countries will continue close cooperation at multilateral forums and exchanges of views over global issues of shared interests./.
