Prime Minister leaves for ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit

Prime Minister Pham is accompanied by Minister of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of National Defense Pham Hoai Nam, Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Office Le Khanh Toan, Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet, and Vice Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Thanh.

The relationship between ASEAN and Japan has been dynamic acrosss fields like politics, security, economy, trade, investment, culture, and development cooperation.

Japan has deeply engaged in politic-security cooperation processes in the region and supprted ASEAN's solidarity, unity and centrality.

ASEAN and Japan have joined various economic cooperation mechanisms and frameworks such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership (AJCEP).

Japan is an active contributor to the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) and active supporter for ASEAN to narrow the development gap.

In 2022, Japan is the fourth trading partner with the two-way trade of US$268.5 billion, and the second largest foreign investor of ASEAN with total registered capital of US26.7 bilion, or an increase of 27.7 percent year on year./.
