Prime Minister Le Minh Hung congratulates ASEAN U17 title winners

Viet Nam defeated Malaysia 3-0 in the final of the ASEAN U17 Championship in Indonesia on April 25 to clinch the ASEAN U-17 title for the fourth times, becoming the most successful team in the history of the regional competition.
This regional title serves as an important stepping stone as the team now looks ahead to higher-level competitions, including the AFC U17 Championship and, ultimately, qualification for the FIFA U17 World Cup.
More than just a historic milestone, the 2026 championship provides strong evidence that Viet Nam's long-term youth development strategy is on the right track, laying a firm foundation for the nation's ambitions on the continental and global stage.
The title was forged through a particularly convincing journey-a flawless, unbeaten campaign marked by resilience, determination, and ambition, featuring four wins, one draw, and 19 goals scored, said Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
The Prime Minister expressed his belief that the team will continue to maintain their faith, gain more momentum to strive for even greater victories in the future.
On the occasion, the national football squad was awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit for their exceptional achievement in the 2026 ASEAN U17 Championship./.
