Prime Minister hosts welcome ceremony for Cuban counterpart

This is Marrero Cruz's first visit to a country outside Latin America since he took office in December 2019, and also the first to Viet Nam by a high-ranking leader of Cuba since 2018.
The visit aims to promote the implementation of agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders and to advance the development of the Viet Nam-Cuba special ties.
During his official visit to Viet Nam, Marrero Cruz is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, pay courtesy calls on Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and meet with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

After their talks, the Cuban Prime Minister is expected to witness the signing of cooperation agreements, attend Cuba-Viet Nam business forum, and meet with leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, among other activities.
