Prime Minister Pham expects the U.S. would continue strong commitment to support for ASEAN centrality, ASEAN-U.S partnership, and Mekong-U.S. relations.
Pham assured Viet Nam has made comprehensive and drastic efforts in implementing its commitments at the the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) and fostering green growth.
He took the occasion to call on the U.S. to continue its support for Viet Nam in negotiations on the just energy transition partnership and assist the country in terms of experience, human resource development, finance, and technologies.
The special presidential envoy affirmed the U.S. consistently attaches importance to the comprehensive partnership with Viet Nam and backs the Southeast Asian country to play an active and substantial role in the region and on global isssues, including climate change.
The U.S. remains committed to cooperation with and support for developing countries in climate change adaptation, clean energy and sustainable infrastructure development, and smart water resource management.
