The Vietnamese Government chief made the call while presiding over a dialogue with American enterprises in Viet Nam in Ha Noi last weekend.
The U.S. is Viet Nam's second largest trade partner and a top investor while Viet Nam remains the seventh largest trading partner of the U.S., Pham emphasized.
The growing presence of American corporations in Viet Nam reflects their confidence in the Southeast Asian country's economic potential and investment climate.
Pham hoped that American companies would actively support technology transfer, workforce training, and sustainable development in Viet Nam, focusing on emerging industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, biotechnology, and advanced materials.
He csalled on American businesses to assist Vietnamese companies in integrating into U.S. and global supply chains, and to view Viet Nam as a strategic investment hub.
Pham also asked American investors to conduct business responsibly, respecting both Vietnamese law and environmental standards, while also contributing to Viet Nam's social welfare programs.
He took the occasion to call on the U.S. to officially recognize Viet Nam as a market economy, and to remove Viet Nam from its high-tech export control list./.
