Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh addresses the Viet Nam-Luxembourg Business Forum on December 9, 2022.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Pham said Viet Nam is focusing on three strategic breakthroughs namely institutional building, human resource development, and infrastructure development. To this end, the Southeast Asian country needs assistance from international friends and partners to mobilize resources for the development of capital, stock, bond and credit markets.

Viet Nam also wishes that Luxembourg would share experience with Viet Nam in such fields like green economy, digital economy, circular economy, and climate change adaptation, Pham emphasized.

Luxembourg is Viet Nam's third largest investor in the European Union, with total registered capital of US$2.6 billion, and one of the first EU member countries to have ratify the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement.

The two-way trade has grown rapidly since the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement came into effect on August 1, 2020.

Luxembourg regards Viet Nam as one of the priority countries receiving official development assistance, with €129 million to date.

Earlier the same day, Prime Minister Pham held talks with Luxembourger Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, during which both sides agreed to soon set up a strategic partnership framework on green finance under which Luxembourg would assist Viet Nam in enforcing the national strategy on green growth and its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Pham also visited the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) where he witnessed the signing of an agreement between LuxSE and the Viet Nam Exchange (VNX), which is expected to further attract investors to the Southeast Asian country's stock market./.
