Bui, aged 53, was promoted to the new role from his previous position as Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People's Committee.

The ministry is now led by Minister Ho Duc Phoc who is assisted by five Deputy Ministers: Nguyen Duc Chi, Vo Thanh Hung, Cao Tuan Anh, Le Tan Can, and Bui Van Khang./.
