The meeting was presided over by PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his deputy Trương Vĩnh Trọng, who are respectively Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Committee.

PM Dũng underlined the need of focusing on perfecting State management regimes, mechanisms and policies in such “sensitive” fields like land management and use, customs, budget collection and spending, and construction investment.

“The requirement is that, in 2010, we must create breakthroughs [in the anti-corruption work] and minimize corruption in those fields,” stressed the Government chief.

He also placed importance on the abrogation of troublesome administrative procedures which are, as he noted, “loopholes for dirty officials to make corrupt use…”
