PM Pham Minh Chinh arrives in Tokyo for official visit to Japan

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived in Tokyo, starting his four-day official visit to Japan at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.

He is accompanied by Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Trade and Industry Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son, and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy Le Minh Tri.

Pham will be the first foreign head of government to visit Fumio Kishida as Japan’s Prime Minister. Earlier, the pair attended the ASEAN-Japan Summit on October 27 and met at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties  (COP26) on November 2.

During his visit, Pham is expected to hold talks with his Japanese counterpart Kishida, have bilateral meetings with leaders of the Japanese National Diet.

He is also expected to deliver his remarks an investment promotion conference in Japan and witness the signing of cooperation agreements between Vietnamese and Japanese businesses.

Pham will have a dialogue with leaders of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and receive leaders of major Japanese firms.

The PM is set to visit Tochigi prefecture, where he will receive its Governor Fukuda Tomikazu and attend a Tochigi-Viet Nam business forum./.
